Catalysts: RANG-19, RANG-19PR
Application
The RANG-19 and RANG-19 PR catalysts are designed for the methanation of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide. This process allows a practically full removal of carbon oxides from gas streams and is used mainly in the plants producing the synthesis gas for the ammonia production.
Characteristics
The main components of the RANG-19 catalyst are NiO, Al2O3 and CaO. An active component of the catalyst after its reduction is nickel. Alumina is a structural promoter which provides the catalyst with a good thermal stability and high mechanical strength. Calcium oxide enhances activity of the catalyst, and facilitates its reduction. The RANG-19 PR catalyst is the prereduced form of the RANG-19 catalyst. The active form of the catalysts is formed at the time of reduction NiO to Ni carried out in a commercial methanator.
