HR Logo

The New Chemical Synthesis Institute (INS) is applying to obtain a logo „Human Resources Excellence in Research” (HR logo). Awarding the HR logo is one of the activities of the European Commission in the framework of the strategy “Human Resources Strategy for Researchers” (HRS4R). This strategy aims at increasing the attractiveness of researchers' working conditions contained in “European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of  Researchers” (Charter and Code). These activities are focused on raising the quality of scientific research and support the work of researchers at INS. Based on the conducted analysis, 12 principles were identified, out of 40 principles contained in the Charter and Code where certain actions are to be taken in order to eliminate existing gaps. The Action Plan was proposed in order to ensure and/or improve conformity with the Charter and Code principles. The New Chemical Syntheses Institute will take all necessary measures, specified in the Action Plan, to assure consistency of rules prevailing in the Institute with the principles of the Charter and Code.

Scope of activities

Research and development work in the field of chemical and biological sciences with a special interest in chemical engineering including:

  • synthesis and inorganic technology
    • synthesis gases, hydrogen, ammonia, nitric acid and nitrogen compounds, phosphoric acid and phosphorous compounds, mineral fertilizers, mineral feed additives
  • synthesis and organic technology
    • urea and methanol derivatives, biodegradable polymers based on plant raw materials, polyurethane foams on melamine basis
  • biotechnology
    • extraction of plant products with CO2 under supercritical conditions
  • applied catalysis - heterogeneous catalysts, sorbents, catalyst supports
  • environmental protection

 

Based on highly qualified staff and modern research equipment INS ensures a high standard of R&D works, applied methods and procedures in close co-operation with industrial partners. The main advantage of INS is the possibility to carry out tests under industrial conditions or directly in industrial plants. The Institute co-operates with all fertilizer producers in Poland and many abroad. This fruitful cooperation resulted in numerous licences sold i.a. to Russia, Germany, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Ukraine, Belarus, and Hungary. Our catalysts are purchased worldwide by 18 countries, including Columbia, Chile, and USA.
